Sad story about a bus beating, and comparisons to Rosa Parks
Imagine this, a young black school teacher, tired from a long day dealing with children at school, attempts to take a seat on a bus. In her attempts, she is repeated warned not do so by young, white teenagers. Resilient, she sits down anyways. For that act, she is immediately attacked, and beaten so badly, she has broken bones, damaged vision, and receives multiple cuts to her head and neck area. She is hospitalized and is in serious condition.
Only in this tragic story, which never seemed to make any headlines in any major newspaper or evening show, it wasn’t a black teacher, she was white, and her assailants were black. And for this reason, I do believe this was why it was never published.
The American community has a hero that came from the 1960’s. Her name was Rosa Parks. She started a whole movement that eventually and rightfully brought about the end to public racial discrimination. It is amazing, that after 40 years, we see that black youths today aren’t learning lessons that their elders have taught them.
Stories like these are starting to show a growing problem. If you are white, it is considered bad. If something happens to you by others who are not white, it is not worth reporting. But, if you find white beating blacks, even if the story is not true as in the case of the Duke lacrosse case, it is widely reported. Such inequality in the news should not be tolerated.
From the article:
As Sarah Kreager, 26, tried to sit down on a Baltimore City bus Tuesday, police say, a middle-schooler told her she couldn’t. When she attempted to take another seat, a middle-schooler wouldn’t let her. Finally, according to police, Kreager just sat down. She was “immediately attacked” by nine students — three females and six males — from Robert Poole Middle School. They punched and kicked her at 2:59 p.m. at the intersection of 33rd Street and Chestnut Avenue, according to Maryland Transit Administration police.
She sustained “serious injuries” and had to be transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to a police report. Kreager suffered two broken bones in her left eye socket, police said. “She had eye muscles that were damaged,” a police report states. “She had deep lacerations on the top of her head and another above her neck.”
Jawauna Greene, an MTA police spokeswoman, said the investigation into the incident was ongoing and she didn’t know whether the attack had anything to do with the victim’s race.
The suspects in the incident are black. The victim is white, according to the police report.
Jawauna Green, are you clearly that dense and in such denial? Only a moron isn’t able to see that this was clearly racially motivated.
